Although the approaches differ, the concepts share common objectives, ranging from uniform standards to the progression of the value chain. At "The Digital Transformation of Manufacturing Industries: Revolution or Evolution?", a conference held by the MÜNCHNER KREIS and acatech – National Academy of Science and Engineering – experts from all over the world discussed these initiatives as well as successful business models, global standards and urgent questions on the digitalization of SMEs and data security. In his keynote address, Günther Oettinger, EU Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, demanded – in addition to a central role for Germany – a common digital language for the EU countries that can help define uniform standards on a European and ultimately global level. HeadlineAffairs was amongst this international circle of excellent representatives from business and politics, managing the press conference and liaising with journalists on behalf of the MÜNCHNER KREIS.The participants agreed that cooperations are essential for the successful digitalization of the manufacturing industry.
